How did glass appear?

To the builder, glass appeared as the perfect solution to the apparently complex problem of how to produce a material which was perfectly transparent, extremely strong and affordable compared to other materials like wood and marble. Glass is a perfectly transparent material because of the particular arrangement of atoms and molecules in the material of glass. The physical and chemical requirements for the transparency of glass are precise and deterministic. The transparency of glass is due to the particular arrangement of molecules and atomic structures in the material concerned. Liquefied sand possessed all these properties but it was very difficult to liquefy sand and use it as a building material. This is how glass appeared. It was the perfect building material and could be used in the construction of a number of articles. This paved the way for usage of glass in almost anything and everything including home décor like glass worktops, glass shower screens and glass splashbacks.
